"Language of Truth" - The Way of the Workers and Friends
(I)
Impute
A conditional reward for faithful service, i.e., if one is faithful to the demands of the workers until death, then whatever sin that one was unable to get rid of oneself is supposedly then covered (somehow) by the righteousness of Christ. Christ's sacrifice, then, is only a gap-filler, primary emphasis being placed on the Two-by-Two's duty to cleanse himself/herself of sin through his or her own works - and then only if remaining faithful to the dictates and precepts of the workers
Infidel
A member of the cult who finds anything attractive, in either Scripture or the beliefs of outsiders, which conflicts with the teachings, traditions or practices of the Two-by-Two church.
Innocent
The condition of the human child at birth. As it grows, it accumulates corruption - losing its innocence, thus becoming a sinful person.
Inspiration
The believed source of all of the words that a worker speaks during preaching sessions. They claim authority as "prophets" and "Apostles," as well as the same favor, revelation and power from God as was given to the Apostles and Prophets of Scripture. In addition, many hold that the "living bread" (i.e., the "testimonies" of the members as shared in Meetings) constitutes inspiration and prophetic revelation, although this second form of "inspiration" is not placed on a level with the words uttered by the workers.
In effect, this means that in addition to the Bible, they have a continually expanding (and ever changing) corpus of God's revealed words, although they do not bother to write down or preserve many of these "inspired" additions. In fact, the workers fear the recording of their preaching - and why wouldn't they, since it so often disagrees with the Bible. And therefore, they have a dilemma: wanting to be revered as inspired individuals through whom God speaks directly, but not wanting the members to even take notes, in some cases - for fear that those notes will get into the hands of knowledgeable "outsiders" or be scrutinized by students of the Bible or cult-awareness organizations.
Interpretation
See "Spiritualize."
Israel
The Two-by-Two ministry and church - exclusively. Based on "spiritualized" readings of such passages as
Romans 2:28-29 and Galatians 6:16.
