Tom Schroeder's "Black Stocking" Memories

Tom Schroeder

offers transparency to the era of the

"BLACK STOCKINGS"

that were heaped on women as a requirement of going to heaven, as well as exposing the ludicrousness of such a requirement.

Tom has a folksy, wry, conversational writing style and his abundant humor comes through many times in these insightful experiences. The Lord has blessed Tom with a writing style that heads straight for your heart............he packs a LOT into a small package.

All of you will enjoy reading these "MEMORIES" and a few of you, sadly, will remember the misery of being forced to wear

"BLACK STOCKINGS."

Here is a "Book Review" of Tom and his

"Black Stocking Memories"

 from Martha Knight:

Tom? Well, I have this mental image of him, sitting there in a tall rocker, knees crossed, one foot waggling sometimes to punctuate a remark, now and then a little wink, an upraised forefinger to signal a zinger coming up. There's the deadpan, dry wit, the keen observation, but--no malice! He understands the 2X2 system as clearly as anyone going. And he articulates its sham, its destructive aspects in ways that are direct or indirect, blunt or subtle, serious enough but always so entertaining we hear every word. Tom sounds mild and genial, but he absolutely nails the 2X2 system. Right to the side of the barn, like the hide of a winter weasel, up there in black and white.
