Some of Us Are Very Concerned Why These Things Are Covered................

August 7, 2008

To all in the world who care about children,

I have asked VOT to post the following letter, written by Frank Caler in 1988.

Frank gave a copy of his letter to me, and to one of the highest level overseers of the group, Taylor Wood, as well as to the church. Frank and I both lived in Colorado Springs, and were both greatly distressed to find that we had several workers who represented themselves as servants of God, coming into our homes, eating the food our wives prepared for them, using the utilities and facilities that we had provided for our families, and then sexually touching and troubling our daughters, in their home.

We began an effort to expose these men to the highest level overseers of their church group, who call themselves "The Truth" and "The Way". We became even more distressed when we, through our extensive and earnest efforts, found that the highest-level overseers refused to take our accusations before the church and try these men.

They simply concealed these pedophiles,

child molestation and sexual perversion with new victims.

Then we learned that this had been going on since the start of "The Truth" group in the late 1800's. And we learned that the overseers had been hiding and enabling these practices since their beginning.

I feel that it is very important to presently give maximum exposure, to the world, of the practices of this group. I think of all the lives, of children, both boys and girls, that these evil men who call themselves preachers, have sexually preyed on and molested, and it is heart breaking.

I'm grateful for men like Frank Caler, and so many others,

who have stood up and put great heart and effort

into trying to protect their own, and other children from this evil.

If any that read these things, wish to add their experiences and efforts to expose this evil to the world, I am confident that God will rejoice that their are still those on the earth who want to protect children from such evil, committed by those that proclaim to the world that they are "men of God." How abhorrent that is to the God of Heaven who created us!

Should you wish to help with this battle against these evil men who molest children, and the evil leaders of the group who conceal and perpetuate it, please contact me.

Dear Taylor and the Church,

You don’t know me, but after talking to several workers in the area about a problem that happened to me and my family, I felt moved to write to you.

About a year ago, a worker named Ken Wahlin was in our home and followed our daughter

upstairs to her room and closed the door.

She was only 15 years old at the time.

He then proceeded to put his hands on her knees

while he was knelt down in front of her talking.

Some months later I confronted my daughters about why, when the workers come over, they would go to their rooms and close the door and not want to talk to them. This story came out. I did not go to him at the time. My next mistake was I talked to Gilbert Reese, George Gittens, Harry Brownlee, and several elders in our area before going to Ken. According to Matthew 18:15, this perhaps was wrong of me.

Ken came from North Dakota because of problems with women and no one warned us that he had this problem. I like Paul’s testimony in II Corinthians 7:8-13 the need of not hiding these things is evident. Ken has not had just the problem with our daughter, but a number of different incidents that have never been brought to light and thus has never had the scripture we have in I Timothy 5:17-20. (especially verse 20) Please consider Galatians 2;11-14 also. Those even in the ministry who were committing wrongs which were a hindrance to the sheep and lambs of God. They were rebuked before all, enabling us to turn from those things, chapter 5;16-21. Sad to say, some of those things are among the ministries of God and are not being dealt with, causing a sickness among God’s people.

I am not writing because I have been perfect or even that I don’t deserve to be put to death for what I have done in my own life. I am willing that others know I am not worthy and certainly need the life and blood of Christ to have a hope of eternal life. I am ashamed of my past life and have been searching the scriptures. I was admonished to do so by Gilbert Reese when we had a meeting with he and George Gittens about some of these things.

The things that Paul wrote to the Romans in chapter 16:17-18 are evident in the works of some of those who claim to be the shepherds in our area.

Besides Ken Wahlin, we have had

Ira Hobbs and Roy Dietzal.

How can it be that these men can continue

to be violating the purity and truth of the ministry?

The testimony Paul had II Corinthians 6 and 7:1,2 was a comfort to me, knowing how Paul wanted to conduct himself and did in the work of shepherding and sowing the seed of God’s Kingdom and in his testimony among God’s people. Ephesians 5:1-21 was good for me. I want to follow this good instruction and wonderful council.

Some of us here are very concerned why these things

are covered and not taken care of so

God’s ministry and his people can have blessing.

We do not want to have to be so continually suspicious when a worker is moved to this state that we have to warn our children and others that this may not be a shepherd but a wolf. Jesus warned us of this in Matthew 7:15-20 and so many warnings from Paul in Acts 20;27-35 and II Peter 2.

My hope is that there may be a concern among those who are elders in the ministry and an openness which God can bless. Perhaps men who are guilty of this betrayal of trust, which God has given to those in the ministry, may be purged so others may fear and God’s truth may be blessed.

I feel an inadequacy in myself to have expressed the burden on my heart about these things.

I want to have a humility and softness because of my own sin. I want God to deal with me, try my reins and search my heart as well I want to be willing to obey his truth and trust all these things may be so in his will.
