For those of us innocents who were born and raised into the fear driven belief system of the 2x2's and have struggled for years with an odd twist of passive-aggressive behaviors, now desire to extend empathy and unconditional love to any who are hurting and searching for answers. Rules and abuse governed our lives, not a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. The rigidity of the worker imposed "unwritten" rules of control created dysfunctional shame, fear, guilt and direct pressure to constantly "measure up." It has taken time to grow to a place that we could turn loose of the abnormal legalism of the 2x2's. Time well-spent reading the Bible has enlightened us that the abuse of legalism is not consistent with scripture. We are here to offer you a safe, loving setting and help you let go of the things that have also bogged you down. Our goal is to touch your heart and be a vehicle towards removing the damage deep within you in this safe setting of unconditional love and security. Matthew 11:28-30

“A little bit about me---
I was born in what you call a 2x2 home,
but I did not profess.
I knew a little bit about the history growing up, as I would spend summers visiting my grannies in Oregon (one in Salem, the other in Eugene). Both my grannies had professed through Cooney, back in the days when Irvine was still part of the fellowship.
My grams in Eugene was extremely close to me--out of all her 9 grandchildren I was her favorite.
She confided in me quite a bit about what she knew about the history--
she did not want to see me get entrapped in this way as she had been.
She told me that “a lot of people call us Cooneyites” and
also about how the head worker had bullied her,

When I first discovered
“the truth”
over 23 years ago,
I began a diligent study to find out about it
historically and doctrinally
because my contacts within the group,
could not or would not answer my questions.
